How CSSPS Placement Works

What automatic placement considers

GES materials describe CSSPS as the system used to place qualified BECE candidates. Placement depends on the candidate's performance together with submitted school, programme and residential choices and the capacity available. Families should not reduce the process to a rumoured single cut-off score.

Demand differs by school, programme and residential option. Two candidates naming the same school may be competing for different programmes or statuses, and a candidate may meet general eligibility without securing a highly demanded space.

Preference order matters

List schools in the order the candidate genuinely wants them. Do not put a less desired school first because someone claims it will “increase the chance” of later receiving the real favourite. The submitted order should be defensible if a placement is offered.

What SchoolFinder Ghana cannot predict

• A guaranteed placement or future vacancy.
• An unpublished programme cut-off.
• A boarding place merely because a school has boarding facilities.
• A category or programme change not yet reflected in the official register.

Use only official placement channels

Keep the candidate index details private and use the official CSSPS process announced by education authorities. Reject anyone offering to change results or guarantee placement for payment. Verify reporting instructions with the placed school before making commitments.
