Describe needs specifically
Move beyond a broad label. Record the learner’s mobility, communication, sensory, learning, health, personal-care and assessment needs, together with strategies that currently help. The same diagnosis can affect learners differently.
Ask the school concrete questions
- Can the learner reach classrooms, dormitories, washrooms and dining areas?
- What learning or communication support is currently available?
- How are medication, emergencies and safeguarding handled?
- Can the learner participate in the intended programme’s practical work?
- Who will coordinate support after admission?
Verify, do not infer

Include the learner
